Research underpins how Beetroot understands technology change. Alongside our consulting work, Beetroot conducts research into how technology systems are experienced across organisations, communities and the wider tech ecosystem.

Our research pays particular attention to experiences that are fragmented, under‑counted or overlooked in mainstream technology discourse.

Current work includes:

• ‘Where Are All the Black Women in Tech?’ — Launching in May 2026, a campaign and research initiative highlighting structural barriers within the UK tech ecosystem.

• The Listening Programme — Launched in 2025, an ongoing research strand examining how technology and organisational systems shape access, participation and opportunity across communities and institutions.

Through this work, we bring together lived experience, organisational insight and sector‑level observation. This strengthens both our consulting practice and the wider evidence base around human‑centred technology, ensuring our insights help clients and communities navigate change with clarity and care.
